Steve’s life-long love of RODEO lead him to become a
Professional RODEO ANNOUNCER.
RODEO ANNOUNCER Doc Rodeo- The Wikipedia of the West
What is your Rodeo missing? You have the toughest stock and the elite to compete. But stop and think. What is missing? You are missing the Voice of Rodeo that can recognize sponsorship, fill dead time, and entertain the audience. Steve has a saying, “People do not come to the Rodeo to eat BBQ and drink beer and eat popcorn and visit; they come to be ENTERTAINED!” A mix of Entertainment and Education-what he calls Edutainment!
A smooth easy-listening voice, his personal solid knowledge of rodeo (as a past competitor, Saddle Bronc, Bull Rider and Team Roper -and working the chutes-from “Little Britches” 4-H, FFA and High School Rodeo, to Military Rodeos to going to college on a Rodeo Scholarship-winning the College National Finals in 1984)-and sense of humor and timing and research along with his new book: “Broncs Bulls & Buckles” (all about the history of professional rodeo) blend together to make Steve a repository of rodeo knowledge. Steve enjoys making a personal connection with rodeo audiences. His enthusiasm as a vivid commentator is matched with his wealth of knowledge and a deep interest in all aspects of rodeo. He attended Chad Nicholson’s Rodeo Announcer School 2013 and 2014. Steve as an up and coming Rodeo Announcer is becoming well known for his powerful patriotic monologues during Grand Entry. Steve being a former U.S. Marine (from a long line of Marines) it is Steve’s absolutely favorite part of Announcing. He loves that you can PRAY out loud and sing the National Anthem every time he announces a rodeo!

Before the event even starts, Steve works on promotions, from Social Networks, the Internet to Radio and TV broadcast and Newspapers. Everyone needs to know what is expected of them, what their cues are, how the event will operate, and what to do if something goes wrong. Our Pre-Event Planning ensures smooth running performances and successful events.
PERFORMANCE- Steve will keep your audiences engaged and entertained, while educating them about Rodeo the Great American Sport! Your spectators will revisit your event and bring friends to show off their knowledge! Steve will always represent the Event Committees, Sponsors and Contractors in a positive respectful, professional manner.
POST-EVENT DEBRIEFING- After each performance, Steve will meet with the members of the team to discuss the performance. This is CRUCIAL to ensure the success of future shows and is best done immediately after the function.
